Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning Allocates Funds for the First-time Incentive Program

Bright from the Start provides financial incentives of $1,200 to $3,400 to eligible early childhood professionals who receive their first credential between September 1, 2009 and February 28, 2011. Eligible credentials are the Child Development Associate (CDA), Technical College Certificate, Technical College Diploma, or an Associate Degree in early childhood education, child development, child care administration, or school age care. CDA Assessment Fee Scholarships Available

Georgia early child care practitioners who have completed a preparation course and earned their 120 clock hours from a HOPE-eligible, SACS-accredited institution with an early childhood education program of study or any CDA course approved through the Georgia ECE Training Approval System are eligible to apply for a $325.00 CDA Assessment Fee Scholarship. Please note that 85% of the assessment fee ($276.25) is awarded and paid directly to the Council for Professional Recognition.

Earn Your CDA Credential and Qualify for a Bonus

The INCENTIVES Program is a Georgia salary supplement program that rewards early care and education professionals for their educational attainment and for their tenure to the same child care cent program for 12 consecutive months. Applicants, who meet all program eligibility requirements, may receive two equal payments over a twelve-month period, ranging from $100 to $1,000 annually depending on the level of education achieved.
